Position Summary:

As a Field Sales Engineer, you will be a technical expert on our laser and dot peen products with a high level of direct part marking applications understanding. You will educate our customers on the technologies MECCO offers and guide them how to best integrate marking solutions into their manufacturing processes. Since each application is unique, Sales Engineers are required to conduct on site product demonstrations, sales presentations, and engineering assessments to determine the best solutions for the manufacturer. This position will support our clients in the Southeast and may be occasionally required to support clients in other regions of the United States.


Who You Are:

  • You are a great communicator with customers and at all levels of the organization.
  • You are energized by new people and projects and are comfortable working in a demanding environment while maintaining an elevated level of detail.
  • You have a high degree of technical aptitude with a B.S. preferred in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Physics.
  • You are prepared to travel 75-80% of the time to serve our wide range of customers.
  • You are committed to fostering long-term customer relationships and ensuring their success through ongoing support.

What You will Do:

  • Complete training on our MECCO sales process and be expected to routinely execute and report through our Salesforce CRM on each stage of the sales process.
  • Maximize sales opportunity conversions by performing discrete face-to-face sales and customer related activities.
  • Perform critical (sales-related) field-based tasks: demonstrations, training, problem solving, etc.
  • Evaluate site appointments to gather information regarding the specific product needs.
  • Provide meeting outcomes to the appropriate Inside Salesperson by phone at the end of each appointment/visit.
  • Deliver end-to-end customer support, including on-site installation assistance, training, final system testing run-offs, and ongoing post-sales support.
  • Provide sales support and training to our Regional Territory Managers and Sales Representatives.
  • Attend trade shows and other sales-related events.
  • Travel on a consistent basis including overnight and air travel.

  • Individual will be required to lift, push, pull, and carry up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally, and/or up to twenty (20) pounds frequently, and/or up to ten (10) pounds constantly.
  • Work involves occasional exposure to unpleasant elements, such as fumes, chemicals, loud noises, etc.
  • Incumbent must be able to read, see, hear, and speak.
  • Work involves regular overnight travel.

Workdays and Shifts:
Position works Monday – Friday, daylight hours, and additional time as needed to complete work.

Work Location: Remote. Southeast (North and South Carolina) Corporate on-site training for up to several weeks upon hire.
