Inside Sales Engineer – Entry Level

Position Summary:

As an Inside Sales Engineer, you will drive positive sales opportunities with new and existing accounts by communicating with both potential and established clients, to maintain and grow revenue.

What You will Do:

  • Pursue new sales opportunities with potential and existing clients via email, telephone, and/or Microsoft Teams.
  • Analyze and determine client needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
  • Route all sales orders to Customer Service team for processing.
  • Route all quality issues to the Customer Service team, ensuring that all pertinent information is documented.
  • Maintain knowledge of products, services, competitive activity, and other general information of interest to clients.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, researching industry trends, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Attend tradeshows and other customer-facing events as appropriate.
  • Visit customers on a schedule.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Other Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • May be required to participate in safety training and/or certifications provided by the Company or customers.
  • Valid driver’s license, as employee may be required to travel as needed.
  • Some level of sales experience preferred with an emphasis on customer relations, preferably in a specialized manufacturing setting.
  • Two (2) plus years of experience in prospecting and selling capital equipment is a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of Salesforce (or a similar CRM) is a plus, as well as Microsoft office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Incumbent will be required to use a computer with keyboard, telephone, or handheld mobile device for extended periods of time, and office machinery as needed.
  • Individual may be required to use basic hands and power tools.
  • The employee must be able to spend prolonged periods of time standing.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Individual will be required to lift, push, pull, and carry up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally, and/or up to twenty (20) pounds frequently, and/or up to ten (10) pounds constantly.
  • Work involves occasional exposure to unpleasant elements, such as fumes, chemicals, loud noises, etc.
  • Incumbent must be able to read, see, hear, and speak.
  • Work involves occasional overnight travel as needed.

Workdays and Shifts:

Position works Monday – Friday, daylight hours, and additional time as needed to complete work. Your initial schedule will be on-site full time for training for the first “whatever it takes” number of days. You will then have the potential to move to a hybrid schedule (you will have three (3) in-office days: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), depending on tasks due and client needs.

As company needs evolve, MECCO reserves the right ask that you report to the office five (5) days a week at any point in your employment to ensure a strong company culture and meet client needs.

  • 8-hour shift
