Systems Integration Engineer

Position summary: 
The Systems Integrations Engineer position is accountable for supporting the sales, engineering, and production teams of the company. Responsibilities include but are not limited to successfully designing, pricing, and processing company’s advanced solutions to the customers with high quality and in a timely fashion. There are no supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Sales and Customers to define system needs.
  • Create Scope of Work (SOW) documents to layout system requirements; Define deliverables and customer expectations; Prepare Proposal Estimating and review with customer.
  • Provide technical expertise for customer/Sales Team/Engineering questions.
  • Create and provide cost sheet to sales for up-market customized workstations.
  • Project leader for custom projects; Transition orders to Engineering with kickoff meetings; work with Engineers on design approval; work with production on project schedule; project update calls with customers.
  • Set-up workstation systems for shipping or run-off; mechanical checks, electrical checks.
  • Work with Software and Electrical/Controls Engineers to debug PLC and Graphical User Interface (GUI) programming.
  • Work with customer to test-run system; Conduct training; Make adjustments based on customer demand; Finalize and ship product.
  • Support Service Team as they install and upgrade equipment.
  • On-going customer support.
  • Documentation coordination for custom deliverables.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Physical demands and work environment:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Incumbent will be required to use a computer with keyboard, telephone, or handheld mobile device for extended periods of time, and office machinery as needed. 
  • Individual may be required to use basic hand and power tools.
  • The employee must be able to spend long periods of time standing.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Individual will be required to lift, push, pull, and carry up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally, and/or up to twenty (20) pounds frequently, and/or up to ten (10) pounds constantly. 
  • Work involves occasional exposure to unpleasant elements, such as fumes, chemicals, loud noises, etc.
  • Incumbent must be able to read, see, hear, and speak.
  • Work involves occasional overnight travel.


Workdays and Shifts:

Position works Monday – Friday, daylight hours, and additional time as needed to complete work. Hybrid schedule possible depending on tasks due.

 
Education/Certification(s)/License(s) required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physical engineering, physics, or equivalent experience.
  • May be required to participate in safety training and/or certifications provided by the Company or customers.
  • Valid driver’s license, as employee will be required to travel.


Experience/Other required:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of engineering experience in customized machine manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems required.
  • Proficiency in Windows Operating System Microsoft Office
  • Strong computer and software knowledge
  • Experience with laser (Winlase) or labeling software a plus
  • Experience with VB.NET a plus
  • Experience with PLC programming a plus
  • Experience with vision systems a plus.
  • Salesforce experience and/or CRM equivalent a plus
